The Blue Dragon

Wirds seem futile.
We dressed and drove towards Kohala, North. We parked as rain fell eith sone intention. The reataurant seemed to be in the throes of dusruption. A brigade of moppers snd people scurriously moving tables snd place settings retreated.
A greeter asked us to have a seat and asked for our understanding.
Dan whispered, "what will our back up plan be?"
I was not about to 'switch Horses.'
I knew that everything wax about yo be okay. I tried to drown his bad mood abd dispproving looks.
In tine, a woman named Summer appeared to lead us to our hastily set table. The red snd pink antherium welcoming. We opened our woiden menusblaborioudly. And I stole a glance at Dan.
He rdmained unmoved by the grace of being seated.
The rain indide continued. Men arrived with yellow cones which read 'caution slippery.'
We expexcted unordinary sbd were rewarded for our open minded patience.
We asked for cocktails as we pondered the limited offerings.
One dip of Dan!s gin and tonic transformed the evening."This is wonderful," he provlsimed snd we relaxed into the Oddness of the Blue Dragon.
Honey ordered s ceasar and a hsmburger hesitantly, me too the Summer rolls, ohana stylf snd upBeet salad were my choices.
Dinner was spectacular!
We declined dessert and instead orderec s scotch so we could stay snd savor the music. There were old standard hawaiian lounge songs sbd some classics like Fly Me to the Zmoon.
Our waitress. As s hift brought the flourless chocolate cske to take home with us. A fove spice plum sauce was a yummy complement to the soft pile of chocolate,
We dkept very well.

A last sunset and a swim

Mauna Kea

We packed a dinner and picked up the Coles. So thankful we are all interested to the trip to the visitor's center, at 9000 ft.
Dan drove through rain, fog, clouds and blue sky to arrive by sunset.
The scenery was amazing!

We added all the clothes we had and were still chilly. Our Puako place was 91 degrees and the center was 51, with wind. The OPB special movie Was!!!
I couldn't see the stars, but Rosalie saw the Milky Way! There was still too much 'zodiacal light' until ten. The zillions of stars made the sky milky, i would see a star in a peripheral spot and turn to follow it up, and miss it!

So here is an image. We are back home now eating our sack dinners. Lol

Haiku on the beach

Empty me oh Lord
As a Heiau long deserted
breath melts into breeze

Pupu Party and Reflexology

Crazy Fun!
We are invited to the Coles place at the Hilton at 6:30. They have ordered a Margherita Pizza, we bring a Cupcake Chardonnay. The unexpected element is a rock band playing outdoors for a three hour private party or convention.
Indoors is just as wonderful with the window cracked. Rosslue has a litany of ailments. MS , wrist pain and numbness, swollen ankles and tight hamstrings.
I ask if I can work on her. We hope to include them on our trip to Mauna Kea later this Friday afternoon into evening.

Friday

Morning Meditation
"Everything is absolutely
Okay right now."
Happy to begin each day with This -

Hot Thursday

I usually awake early, well after dawn. But this bird was creating haiku in my head.

I get up and put on the coffee, Peets this time around, and it'd been good!

Mentors channel is doing a 'gig' on the mind, breath and meditation. Today, someone taught a new breathing pattern. I was overjoyed to practice it with my yoga students. " breathe into your left side, hold, exhale. . . . Right side, front, back and crown, root. All directions round.

We went swimming in the early morning, trying to balance family and personal needs. RISC and Rosslue went to Kkns to see thePalace
We headed to the Puako Oettoglyphs. The Zmslsma Trail is .7 miles.
We started out at 12, we were weak after swimming and the heat and difficulty of walking over lava. It wax both mysterious and sacred.
Then to the Foodland Farms. We needed a line, bananas, gin and sun screen.
Home to gather ourselves. Hungry, we headed to Mi Ranchita in Hawi. Then a spontaneous haircut and a trip to the Heiau. Too hot to do it well, but we found a swimming beach to enjoy.
A happy hour drink followed by a swim at sunset.

We have a date with the Coles at the Hiltonat 6:30, so we gather once again to load glasses, napkins and wine( Cupcske Chardonnay) ANd we are off! It's pizza
And a live rock and roll band:) wow!

Wednesday Road Trip

After the morning swim, we showered outdoors and Bud called to us for a walk through.
Home to freshen up. Rosalie loved our place. She recognized the color, which I would call celery,.
Off to Hawi we went for lunch at Bamboo. Hot but colorful as towns go, great little lunch and beer. Rain fell in torrents as we ran to the car. The ride to roads end was unproductive due to the cloud cover. On a clear day, we could see Maui;)
We headed to Waimea, also called Kamuela.
A bit of World Series watching, a great 6th inning if you are a Royals fan.
I headed for the beach where Dan joined me, briefly. He had to swim;)

Morning views

Swimming with a friendly turtle and fun with coral boneyards!

Wednesday Blessngs

Morning haiku:

Can you see with me?
That Kindness and compassion
Will be our healing?

Birthday! Not mine!

Russell took us all to dinner at Kamuela Provisions Cafe. We had spectacular seats at sunset. Here are the highlights.

Tuesday

Rosalie's birthday!
Slept so well;) not Dan though.
Pete's coffee came with the house;)
I made it nice and strong. . . And enjoyed my granola with a baby banana.
Then off to Kona on 'business'.
1 computer chargers
2 mail wedding card to Mark
3 iron supplements and nail clippers.
Lunch at Kona Brewpub is great again.
Dan had a Brewben
And I lived the Strawberry spinach salad with Mac nuts and Gorgonzola.
We couldn't wait to get home. Dan napped and I worked up a yin practice for my spleen.
Legs up the wall
Reclining konasana
Forward fold
Laying twist.
Then off to the beach!

Monday night haiku

Crisp lava pierces
Spacious Puako Bay beach
Sitting in wonder

Monday

Woke up on same time table. I make coffee. Pretty hungry, we walk to the Sunday breakfast spot for coffee. No guava bread pudding French toast, so we relax a bit and hit the sidewalk, stretching and except using until something grabs us.

At Paradise Brewing, where there is no beer, we ran out of steam. Breakfast was mediocre at best.
Back to the hotel for a swim in the Lagoon.

Call my Dad.
Packing was easy, check out at noon.
Kona Brewing is a must to nourish and refresh before the drive.

Driving North, lots of lava fields and yellow brush. Yo honor the Coles, we stop by to visit and admire their digs. It isn't our style, over the top luxury.
Continuing North, we arrive in Puako and find 207 Puako Bwach Road. Our upstairs live nest is charming/ and HOT! Despite ceiling fans. We dash to a little market Foodlsnd Farms and hurry back for sunset.

I make a salad and Dan dives into the roasted chicken, I savor my ahi sandwich remnant.
Gin and tonics are most refreshing 🌴👙🌴
